A motorcycle rider comes home
News from to a big shock – Toronto Star:

Riding a motorcycle has been my passion since I turned 16. I have had my share of scary moments.

As is the case with most motorcycle riders, I’ve “gone down” while riding my bike. It was a classic “high side” — the one where you go over the handlebars.

I couldn’t blame anyone for that one. It was at night on a country road in northern California, where I was living at the time. Bambi came bounding out of the woods and, without touching the road, landed on my bike right between the headlight and front fender. Surprisingly, there was no major damage to body and bike. LAKE GEORGE — For motorcyclists, camaraderie is the key — no matter how far you have to travel.

That’s why each summer, tens of thousands of people descend on this Adirondacks village to take part in the Americade Motorcycle Rally, held since 1983. Jamie Cosimeno and Scott Kiser have been dating for 10 years. The Rome natives said they come to Americade every year. This year’s event was June 1-6.

“You see things differently when you’re on the bike,” Ms. Cosimeno said. “No distractions.”

“It’s our psychiatrist,” Mr. Kiser said.

“Yeah, it relaxes us,” Ms. Cosimeno agreed. “It calms you down, the fresh air; it’s just a good ride.”

Ms. Cosimeno said they often attend the River Run in Alexandria Bay in June and have attended rallies as far away as Laconia, N.H., and Daytona Beach, Fla.

Americade also offers attendees a chance…………… continues on WatertownDailyTimes.com
