Inquest: Moment’s aberration cost young man his life
News from Denbighshire Free Press:

A FATHER says he will never understand the error of judgement which claimed his “lovely lad” in a motorcycle accident.

An inquest into the death of 23-year-old Daniel Mark Williams (pictured) heard how the Ruthin man was killed he collided with a 4×4 on the A494 near Gwyddelwern, near Corwen, last August.

The former Ysgol Brynhyfrd pupil was understood to have been overtaking another vehicle on his Suzuki GSXR 600 motorbike when the incident occurred.

North Wales coroner, John Gittins, told the hearing at County Hall, Ruthin, that “a moment’s aberration” had probably cost the young man his life, before reaching a conclusion of accidental death.

A statement from Daniel’s father David was read out at the inquest, which said: “He was a lovely lad and he is missed as a son.
“Daniel’s death touched so many people and the response has been incredible.

“He was a meticulous type of person. He was safety concsious.
“I cannot understand how Daniel made such a bad judgement call on that day and I doubt I ever will.”

Mr Williams, of Ruthin, who worked at his father’s Williams Plant Hire business, had only passed his compulsary basic motorcycle training test in January last year.

He had bought the Suzuki bike, his first, in March.
