Insurance too high for young motorcyclists

ACCORDING to a spokesman for the BMF, high insurance costs are a problem for many young motorcyclists.

Jeff Stone, Media and Public Relations Manager for the organisation, said: “Often you’ll find the younger rider has paid more for his insurance than he has for his motorbike.”

He believes that the struggles with costly premiums will affect this demographic and long-term hurting motorcycles sales.

The average age for British motorcyclists is in the mid-40s, an age where the situation starts to improve with lower premiums, he added.
