News from Denton Record Chronicle:

Motorcycle riders can sign up now for the Denton Fire Fighter Poker run Sunday, to benefit Michael Bell.

Bell was diagnosed with gliosarcoma brain cancer a little more than a year ago. He has undergone four surgeries and several rounds of radiation.

Cost is a $ 25 donation, and early registration is available by calling 469-831-9446 or e-mailing Andrew.Jubera@cityofdenton.com .

The ride is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on the Denton Square and will visit Justin, Grapevine, and Lewisville before returning to Denton. Prizes will include Best Hand and Worst Hand.

The ride will end at University Lanes, 1212 E. University Drive in Denton, where a bowl-a-thon fundraiser will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. This event is also open to the public, and walk-ins are welcome. Bowlers are invited to participate with a minimum donation of $ 10 to $ 20, organizers said.

A silent auction will be held during the bowl-a-thon to raise additional support for Bell.
