Tuesday night’s two separate motorcycle crashes is a safety reminder for motorcyclists and drivers, say city cops.

A 35-year-old man was killed on his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle along 105 Street near 98 Avenue when it was side-swipped by a small Ford Ranger truck at about 7:30 p.m.

He died on scene.

And a few hours later, a 20-year-old motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet, died when his new Honda struck a curb in a condo building parking lot at South Terwillegar Drive.

Police say he was testing out his new machine.

Staff Sgt. Barry Maron with the Edmonton Police Service says riders should always wear proper equipment and drivers must respect motorcyclists on the road.
