Motorcycle-wearing man robs Tampa insurance office

A motorcycle helmet-wearing man robbed an insurance company office at gunpoint today, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

About 9:51 a.m., the man entered Direct General Insurance Co., 9017 Adamo Drive E., Suite 113, pointed a handgun at the manager and demanded money. After receiving an undisclosed amount cash, the suspect fled eastbound on foot, where he was observed entering the driver’s seat of a 1999-2000 gray Isuzu Rodeo and fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man, 35 to 40 years old, 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1 with a medium build. He has short black hair with a neatly trimmed goatee. He was last seen wearing a blue and white striped motorcycle helmet, dark clothing and gloves.

Anyone with any information about the suspect is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 247-8200.
